The Libraries group in AMD AI GPU Software (AGS) builds the GPU-accelerated, open-source math and communication libraries that power artificial intelligence and high-performance computing applications on workstations, data centers, and super computers. 

 

JOB DETAILS:

  • Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada
  • Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time (37.5 hours a week), either in a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term. 
  • Duration: This role is an 8-month position (September 2026 to April 2027)

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

 

We are seeking highly motivated Program Management Co-Op to join our team. In this role, you will be working with our software development teams on GPU-accelerated libraries in our open source ROCm software platform (https://github.com/ROCm).

  • Working with stakeholders to facilitate the acceleration of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing through GPU acceleration
  • Collaboratively documenting requirements, developing project plans, tracking progress, supporting issue resolution, facilitating team decisions, and partnering with the AMD project management office and engineering community.
  • Developing dashboards and data visualizations to support automated data gathering and reporting.
  • Supporting process improvement initiatives and implementing change management best practices.
  • Tracking, analyzing and reporting on plans, status, and progress to stakeholders and driving corrective actions when required.
  • Supporting training and education initiatives.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

  • Technical Program Management of GPU programming on AMD GPUs for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.
  • Process automation and data analysis in a program management setting.
  • Best practices for open-source development.
  • How artificial intelligence and high-performance computing are delivered and accelerated at scale.
  • Insight into the semiconductor industry.


 WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Currently enrolled in a Canada based University into a Bachelor's Degree program. Strong preference for majors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field/discipline. 

If you have knowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply!

  • Software development with curiosity for program/project management 
  • Practical Agentic AI

  • PC architecture.
  • Data analysis, including statistical analysis and visual analysis.  
  • Data systems design, governance and administration.

  • Project Management or Operation Management.  
  • Financial analysis and cost-tracking. 
  • Agile software development.
  • MS Office with experience in Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Macros etc.) Powerpoint (features for presentation), Word and MS Project.
