Job Title: Industrial Controls EngineerJob DescriptionAn experienced Industrial Controls Engineer is sought to support the design, development, and integration of complex systems for a variety of customers. This role will contribute to both rapid prototyping efforts and detailed hardware development, working closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team to coordinate and support all phases of control system design, development, and testing. The position is based at an Engineering Test Center in Hollywood, Alabama. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with industrial motor control and automation, Rockwell Automation PLC hardware, and a strong foundation in electrical systems.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and integrate complex control systems.
- Support rapid prototyping and detailed hardware development.
- Coordinate and support all phases of control system design, development, and testing.
- Design, layout, integrate, and test motor control centers.
- Integrate low voltage (LV) to medium voltage (MV) Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
- Develop and commission control system requirements.
- Test and debug PLC control systems.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Essential Skills- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant ABET-accredited STEM degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or 20 years of experience without a degree.
- Proficiency in Rockwell Automation PLC Programming.
- Working knowledge of Studio 5000 and Factory Talk software.
- Experience with industrial motor control and automation.
- Ability to meet eligibility requirements for a Secret Clearance.
- US Citizenship.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Knowledge of National Instruments DAQ systems.
- Experience in developing and interpreting electrical schematics.
- Comfortable working in a prototyping environment.
- Knowledge of applicable safety codes.
- Ability to establish network communications and remote Windows workstations.
- Experience with ANSYS and thermal desktop.
Work EnvironmentThe role is primarily onsite in Hollywood, Alabama, with the possibility of working at HQ in Huntsville as needed. The engineering team typically works from 8:00-8:30 AM to 4:30-5:00 PM, while technicians and machinists start as early as 7:00 AM and leave by 3:30 PM, offering some flexibility. Teamwork is valued, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and knowledge transfer among a diverse team of engineers and technicians. The team is deeply invested in delivering high-quality products and is committed to staying late if necessary to achieve this goal.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.00 - $67.00/hr.
