SALARY RANGE $75,000 - $135,000/year
DUTIES As a successful candidate for the Network Engineer I role, you will provide support as a member of the Network Administration team, delivering technical assistance to Network Administrators and System Administrators, monitoring and maintaining the current infrastructure, improving overall system performance, and helping automate system administration functions. You will also contribute to the development of algorithms used within modules or integrated into models that support the research and development of technologies and systems involving one or more of the following areas: traditional circuit-switched networks, data networks, access technologies, wireless systems, the media used to carry these services, the protocols required for transport and service completion, network operations, management of network resources, provisioning of resources, and traffic and/or performance modeling of such networks.

  • Provide technical support to Network Administrators and System Administrators while monitoring and maintaining the current infrastructure, improving system performance, and automating system administration
  • Provide input to the design of the organization's network and mission architecture
  • Conduct Computer Network Defense operations, plan and install network upgrades, contribute to network design, and perform quality assurance and control

QUALIFICATIONS Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Network Engineering or a related discipline and three (3) years of relevant professional experience and training commensurate with network engineering curricula. Candidates with a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Network Engineering or a related discipline must have one (1) year of relevant professional experience providing Network Engineering support. In lieu of a degree, four (4) additional years of relevant Network Engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree, and six (6) additional years may be substituted for a Master's degree.
