Job description

Exchange Engineer - Contract NYC

location : NYC,NY (3 days onsite, can submit from nearby states)

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a highly skilled Exchange Engineer to manage and support our enterprise Microsoft Exchange 2019/Microsoft Exchange Online environments.  The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in email infrastructure, hybrid deployments, and email security technologies. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage hybrid Exchange deployments and migrations to Microsoft 365. 
  • Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell and other scripting tools. 
  • Provide Tier 3 support for messaging-related incidents and service requests. 
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for messaging systems. 
  • Perform regular system health checks, patching, and capacity planning. 
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions. 
  • Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft Exchange Server environments (2019/Online). 
  • Monitor email traffic and security logs to detect and respond to threats or anomalies. 
  • Collaborate with security teams to enforce email DLP (Data Loss Prevention), encryption, and compliance policies. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of experience managing Microsoft Exchange environments. 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and hybrid configurations. 
  • Fluency in Exchange Online and its interactions with other M365 services such as Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Purview. 
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting. 
  • Solid understanding of email security protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC). 
  • A deep understanding of Active Directory, DNS, and networking fundamentals. 
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Administer and maintain Clearswift Secure Email Gateway, including policy configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting content filtering and protection against threats such as spam, direct harvest attacks, and reverse NDRs. 
  • Knowledge of TrendMicro ScanMail is a plus 
  • Experience with AirWatch MDM solution
