JOB OVERVIEW:
Under the general supervision of the Manager of IT - Network Systems, the Network Administrator will install, configure, and support GPA's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems. Maintain network hardware and software. Monitor networks to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. The Network Administrator also supports network administrative duties and supports the administrative duties of required Software Systems and applications.

Upholds the values of the GPA to promote Safety, Integrity, Respect, Community, Creativity and Opportunity. Promotes a safe work environment by participating in safety initiatives and reporting unsafe conditions and behaviors.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Configure, maintain and troubleshoot wired and wireless data networks and related computing environments, including switches, routers, firewalls, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
  • Configure and maintain network monitoring software in order to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks.
  • Assists in the planning, coordinating, and implementing of network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
  • Document procedures and maintain change control records.
  • Monitor network performance to ensure that expected service levels are met.
  • Manage and maintain software monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Responsible for the daily operation of GPA's network infrastructure.
  • Creates, maintains, and updates system documentation, drawings, and topology maps.
  • Configure and manage access to network resources.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, Enterprise Network Environments, and Wireless Infrastructure highly desired.Cisco switch and wireless controller configuration and troubleshooting experience desired.Working knowledge of enterprise routing protocols, log management systems and SQL databases is desired.Experience implementing network security best practices desired
