Job Description

Trigyn's Direct Client is looking for Senior Network Engineer (Security) for contract assignment in Mineola, NY.

Description:

The client requires a highly-skilled Network Engineer with extensive experience with Cisco networks to manage the Local Area and Wide Area Network.

The Network Engineer will be responsible for Network Security to protect the network from all attacks, both externally and internally. Virtual Private Network (VPN) connections for vendors and other outside agencies must be controlled and maintained.

The Network Engineer will support and expand the LAN/WAN as required, and will be able to maintain and configure all hardware, firmware, software, and configuration files.

The Network Engineer will support and enhance the redundancies that have been built into the network to reduce network outages due to equipment failure.

The Network Engineer will work with existing technology specialists to transfer knowledge through mentoring and through increased documentation.

The Network Engineer will support the Wireless Network (Wi-Fi) and will be charged with securely expanding this network to provide coverage within all building interiors.

The Network Engineer may also plan and deploy a secure exterior Wi-Fi System for short-range connectivity to Department vehicles located near client facilities. Scope of Service:

The effort will be focused in the areas of optimizing network security, optimizing performance, enhancing network security, implementing new security components, analyzing the network, consulting and making recommendations.

Documenting/diagramming the network and setting up or integration of alert systems.

Analysis of existing and setting up site to site as well as client based VPN's.

Overview, analysis and recommendations of the LAN's as well as WAN's.

Overview, analysis and recommendations on all routing.

Overview, analysis and recommendations of all current technology and components.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years experience building, operating and troubleshooting complex network environments with sensitive or classified customer data.

Extensive experience in managing Cisco data communications equipment, including hardware configurations and specifications, firmware and software updates, and equipment configuration settings.

In-depth understanding of network protocols - particularly TCP/IP, network security principles and industry-standard implementations of corporate or government network infrastructures.

Working knowledge of server technologies used in corporate or government messaging applications and file transport protocols (secure & un-secure).

Protection from external hacking attacks, Firewall/ASA Configuration and support, and Wi-Fi security.

Understanding of advanced troubleshooting techniques in diagnosing hardware, software and network issues.

Working knowledge working in a Windows Active Directory environment, preferably with mixed Operating System environment.

Working Knowledge with server infrastructure maintenance and network capacity planning.

Working Knowledge with Hyper-V or VMWare clusters with multiple hosts. Areas of experience should include design, implementation, capacity planning, and maintenance.

10 years with experience with network infrastructure (routers, switches, load balancers, DNS, NAS/SAN) design and maintenance. Cisco, Fortinet and HP is desirable.

Expert experience with configuring client as well as site to site VPN's.

Graduation from a New York State or regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, Network Technology, Computer Engineering, or a directly related field.

Expert-level Cisco certifications in General Data Communications (Routing and Switching), Security, and Wireless Communications. Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) level strongly preferred.
