IT Infrastructure Network Engineer (Onsite) Primary Location: Chicago, Illinois V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for an IT Infrastructure Network Engineer for our premier client in Chicago, Illinois. Education and Experience » 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, network engineering, or enterprise systems deployment. 3+ years leading large-scale system implementations and system management. Experience managing people in a high pressure IT environment. Experience in Procurement, Budgeting, Forecasting, and Asset Management. Experience coordinating across multiple organizations or agencies. Strong expertise in: Network infrastructure (routing, firewalls, QoS, latency). Server environments (on-prem). Endpoint deployment and device management. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities » Proven ability to operate in high-pressure, mission-critical go-live environments. High Degree of ownership in all matters within the IT infrastructure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audience. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Job Responsibilities: End-user devices (consoles, mobile units, training environments). Network connectivity (LAN/WAN, firewalls, QoS, latency, failover). Application environments (Production, Training, Development, Disaster Recovery). Hosting environments (On Prem-data centers, power, storage, cooling). Maintain a complete and validated inventory of all hardware and infrastructure assets. Coordination and oversight of Testing and Validation of: Infrastructure performance and stress testing. Network and failover validation. Endpoint device performance and management. Document, maintain and support existing and new internal and external networks as required. Test, install, document and maintain network hardware, network connectivity and servers as required. Monitor and manage disk space usage. Maintain policies for networks and customer usage. Implement and document backup strategies for selected networks. Test, deploy, and document user computer equipment and peripherals. Maintain documentation for software to ensure that remains compliant with licensing policies and requirements. Maintain and enforce data security and confidentiality policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of information systems and data. Maintain security strategies using both hardware and software methodologies to audit, monitor and protect internal and external network connections, network equipment and servers Document and Maintain existing and new internal and external networks as required. Test, install, document and maintain network hardware, network connectivity and servers as required. Monitor and manage disk space usage. Maintain policies for networks and customer usage. Implement and document backup strategies for selected networks. Test, deploy, and document user computer equipment and peripherals.
