Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Ground Systems Communication Network Software Engineer to join our team! In this role you will work as a technical staff member of the GMD Communication Network (GCN) team, supporting GCN software engineering, development, test, and delivery activities. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational readiness and security of the communication network thatserves as the foundation forthe GMD System.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Support the GCN team in developing software requirements and verification criteria, defining system build content, and establishing test and deployment strategies.

  • Provide technical expertise and advisory support to GMN regarding development contractor sustainment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all software and applications running on GCN equipment racks.

  • Evaluate the development contractor's deployment and configuration of cyber security tools (such as Splunk, Snort, Wazuh) to ensure effective monitoring of network health, threat detection, and security compliance.

  • Provide technical assessment and recommendations to the Government regarding the development contractor's architecture, administration, and sustainment of virtualized environments and associated software across the GCN infrastructure.

  • Assist GMN in overseeing and coordinating GCN software integration efforts with other Ground System sub-products (fire control, in-flight interceptor communication, silo/launch support), C2BMC, and other Missile Defense System stakeholders.

  • Provide support in the technical evaluation of development contractor proposals and review project documentation, identifying technical and programmatic issues, risks, and recommending actionable mitigation solutions to GMN leadership.

  • Assist GMN in the preparation, execution, and follow-up for system requirements reviews, design reviews, project status reviews, and test and acceptance events.

  • Develop and present technical reports, white papers, and briefings to support Government decision-making at Engineering Review Boards (ERB) and other stakeholder discussions.

  • Travel as required (estimated 10%).

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Master's degree in a related STEM discipline is required.

  • Minimum of 12 years of direct experience in software engineering is required.

  • Experience in missile defense or a related DoD environment is highly desired.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cyber analysis tools such as Splunk, Wazuh, or Elastic is required.

  • Proficiency with virtual machines (VMs) and managing virtualized environments is required.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are required.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is required.

  • An active security clearance (SECRET or above) is required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
