What We're Looking For

We're seeking a motivated Network Engineer to join our team onsite in California, responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting networking and communication systems. The ideal candidate brings hands-on technical experience and a collaborative approach, contributing to network architecture, implementation, and troubleshooting alongside senior engineers and project teams. This role offers the opportunity to mentor junior staff, drive best practices, and play a key part in every phase of network deployment and support.

This is a travel-based position with work 100% on customer site in California.

Clearance Requirement

Active DoW Security Clearance required.

What You'll Be Doing

As the Network Engineer, this role guides the design, implementation, and sustainment of enterprise network solutions within a dynamic onsite environment.

  • Installation & Setup: Oversee and, when necessary, personally perform hands-on installation and setup activities - including rack and stack, cabling, labeling, power-up, and testing of networking equipment - ensuring strict adherence to established standard operating procedures
  • Troubleshooting & Escalation: Lead troubleshooting efforts involving routers, switches, and overall network connectivity, ensuring complex issues are thoroughly documented and properly escalated
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers and project leads to drive the delivery of end-to-end solutions that uphold consistent technical standards
  • Customer Engagement: Serve as a key point of contact for customer engagement, delivering high-quality, responsive technical support while maintaining clear and transparent communication on project status, risks, and resolutions
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of configuration records and service documentation, producing clear technical reports and status updates that inform decision-making and drive actionable outcomes
What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Proven, hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Aruba networking platforms in enterprise or DoW environments (hands-on experience with Aruba strongly preferred)
  • SME in physical infrastructure: cabling, racking, stacking, power configuration
  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across the OSI Model 7 Layer technology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to elaborate on complex issues to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and commonly used network analysis to include multiple monitoring tools
  • Experience mentoring or guiding technical teams is a plus
Certifications
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract
  • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or Equivalent
  • Knowledge of basic Network Design Topology Implementation, Switch and Router Configuration Management
  • Preferred Computing Environment Certification: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and/or Aruba Certified Associate (ACA)
Work Location
  • Spend 8 weeks working onsite in California, followed by 10 days offsite
  • All travel and onsite accommodation expenses fully covered by PEAKE
  • Daily per diem allowance for meals and incidental expenses. (Note: based on GSA rates and typically tax-free when aligned with federal travel guidelines; paid in addition to wages to reduce out-of-pocket costs and simplify expense tracking.)
