Wells Fargo is back in the office collaborating for fabulous outcomes.

This role is a hybrid position and in the office three days a week.

There is no visa sponsorship or visa transfer for this role.

Wells Fargo is seeking an Automation Platform Engineer to architect, build, and evolve the enterprise automation platform that powers technology-enabled workflows across the organization.

This position focuses on automation as a durable platform and product rather than ad hoc scripting. It serves as a foundational enabler for business process transformation, standardized operational workflows, self-service capabilities, and future AI-driven automation built with enterprise-grade reliability, scalability, and governance.

We're looking for an engineer who has already built automation frameworks at scale and understands what it takes to run them in complex enterprise environments. This is not a role focused on learning automation concepts or maintaining isolated scripts. You'll help define the architecture, standards, and engineering practices that shift execution from people to platforms while creating measurable reductions in operational effort across Technology.

About the Role

As a Senior Automation Platform Engineer, you will operate as both a technical subject matter expert and hands-on engineer, defining standards, developing core automation services, and partnering with infrastructure, operations, security, and application teams to fundamentally transform how work is executed across the enterprise.

Success in this role requires a platform mindset, strong software engineering discipline, and prior experience building scalable automation solutions that can be adopted broadly across an organization.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Automation Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Software Engineering
  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

    Experience with source-of-truth-driven automation (Nautobot, NetBox, or equivalent)
  • Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Infrastructure as Code experience building containers and workflows to deploy IaC and NaC
  • Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and automation reliability
  • React UI building under JavaScript or .NET

Desired Qualifications

  • Background in network engineering or infrastructure operations
  • Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration platforms (Temporal, ORCA, or similar)
  • Strong proficiency in Python, including application-level development
  • Experience with SD-WAN, SD-Branch, and IPAM architecture automation
  • Familiarity with Ansible for operational automation
  • Experience with Grafana or Prometheus
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development or agent-based systems

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$100,000.00 - $179,000.00
