Job description

Network Automation Engineer
The network automation engineer develops code that assists with repeatable processes within the network and telecommunication environments. The Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and documenting network scripts and libraries and will be responsible for administering network related applications and their underlying systems.
Detailed Description:
  • Performs advanced network reporting and mentors more junior engineers.
  • Maintains current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology and recommends modifications as required.
  • Create all required technical documentation in accordance with Huntington's Change Control and project management processes and procedures.
  • Ability to identify manual operational tasks and develop automation to solve problems.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience supporting end to end network technologies such as routers, switches, VPN appliances, firewalls, proxy's, load Balancers, DNS appliances, and wireless devices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in large scale software development in one or more of the programming languages (C, C++, perl, Windows Powershell, Vmware PowerCLI, Linux Bash shell scripting, python 3.x, java, C#, .net, JavaScript and Go).
  • The candidate should be proficient in the following Infrastructure automation technologies - Ansible, Puppet, Chef in addition to building APIs and services using REST, SOAP, etc.
  • Experience building integrations, via API's, between various systems.
  • Experience working with ServiceNow integrations.
  • REST API software development and testing tools such as POSTMAN, curl, HTTPie, and Python Requests library.
  • Knowledge of and experience using Git for version control.
  • Proficiency with API Development.
  • Proficiency with various Python libraries used for Network Automation.
  • Proficiency with Cisco-based infrastructure and associated APIs.
  • Proficiency with Palo Alto-based infrastructure and associated APIs.
  • Proficiency with F5-based infrastructure and associated APIs.
  • Proficiency with various network tools such as Splunk, Zenoss, InfoBlox, Endace, LiveAction, etc.
