Jr. Network Cloud Engineer
Wyoming, MI (4 days in person, 1 day remote)
$30/hr

ABOUT THE ROLE
Our large food distribution client is seeking an eager-to-learn Junior Network Cloud Engineer to join their IT team. This is a full-time, entry-level position with a hybrid work schedule (four days onsite, one day remote) and a one-year contract-to-hire arrangement. The role is ideal for recent graduates or aspiring IT professionals looking to launch or accelerate their careers in the dynamic world of Information Technology.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Provision and manage GCP network infrastructure using Terraform to support a leading enterprise foodservice distributor's cloud, warehouse, logistics, and corporate applications.
  • Deploy and maintain VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, Cloud NAT, load balancers, and health checks to ensure secure, high-performing connectivity across a distributed enterprise environment.
  • Support hybrid networking solutions, including Cloud VPN, VPC Peering, and Shared VPC, connecting cloud resources with on-premises distribution and business operations.
  • Monitor network health, performance, and capacity; proactively address issues to minimize disruption to critical supply chain and business systems.
  • Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues using Cloud Logging, VPC Flow Logs, and other monitoring tools.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience with GCP networking, cloud infrastructure, or enterprise network operations.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing, and IP addressing (CIDR).
  • Experience with Linux, Terraform, and scripting (Bash or Python).
  • Ability to support highly available infrastructure in a fast-paced, business-critical environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • GCP Associate Cloud Engineer (ACE) or Professional Cloud Network Engineer certification.
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub and Infrastructure-as-Code best practices.
  • Experience supporting large-scale distribution, logistics, supply chain, or retail organizations.
