Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions (Wood E&IS) is seeking an Environmental Engineer or Engineering Intern in our Jacksonville, FL office to support our growing civil and environmental engineering group. This is a great opportunity to be exposed to a variety of impactful projects across these service lines while supporting clients in the Energy, Transportation, Municipal, and Industrial/Commercial sectors.  Our ideal candidate has strong technical capabilities, a commitment to delivering a quality product and a desire for career growth.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Will work under the supervision of a Senior Engineer / Scientist
  • Assist project team in preparation of design drawings, calculations, technical specifications, technical reports, and opinions of probable construction cost under the supervision of a Florida Professional Engineer
  • Deliver processed data in organized fashion, following data management and network standards
  • Field activities may include reconnaissance of project sites and documenting field activities
  • Office activities may include schedule and budget tracking, technical reports, and analysis and interpretation of field results
Skills / Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or graduate from an accredited BS or MS program in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related fields
  • Experience on projects or coursework related to resiliency and/or climate change is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently and demonstrate effective organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to generate superior written work products
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with clients and staff in a team environment
  • Strong mathematical and numerical computing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must pass drug test, fit for duty physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
  • Participate in training events, project meetings and team meetings
