Job description

Job Title: Fire Alarm Technician

Location: Atlanta, GA (and surrounding metro area)

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and certified Fire Alarm Technician with proven expertise in Honeywell Notifier systems to join our growing fire protection services team in the Atlanta area. In this role, you will perform installation, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, programming, and maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and manufacturer specifications. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-profile commercial, industrial, and institutional projects while advancing your career with a respected fire safety provider.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems, with primary focus on Honeywell Notifier panels, Honeywell Fire-Lite panels and components.

• Troubleshoot and repair system issues, including wiring, devices, panels, and network communications.

• Program and commission Honeywell Notifier and Fire-Lite systems.

• Perform routine preventive maintenance, system upgrades, and retrofits.

• Conduct site surveys, generate accurate reports, and document work in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with project managers, electricians, building owners, and AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction).

• Ensure all work meets NFPA 72, local Georgia fire codes, and safety standards.

• Travel within the Atlanta metro area (occasional regional travel possible).

Required Qualifications

• Active NICET Level II (or higher) certification in Fire Alarm Systems (preferred: Level III/IV).

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting commercial fire alarm systems.

• Specific experience with Honeywell Notifier and Fire-Lite systems

• Strong knowledge of fire alarm codes (NFPA 72), electrical principles, and low-voltage systems.

• Valid driver's license with clean driving record (company vehicle provided).

• High school diploma or GED; technical/trade school preferred.

• Ability to work at heights, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks (climbing ladders, working in tight spaces).

• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional experience with other major brands (e.g., Edwards) is a plus.

• Familiarity with fire alarm integration (e.g., voice evacuation, mass notification, building management systems).

• Prior background in fire alarm inspections/testing or service roles.

• OSHA 10/30 certification or other safety training.
