Job description


The Group Fitness Instructor teaches one-on-one programs and group classes to DAHLC clientele. Must demonstrate appropriate performance levels of job specific performance competencies. The Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for leading safe and effective exercise programs for all skill levels. Instructor must be mindful of participants, demonstrate proper biomechanical alignment, possess excellent verbal communication, and be service oriented. Must stay on top of industry trends, keep certifications up to date, seek to enhance current teaching skills, and offer suggestions for new classes that are appropriate for the DAHLC population.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required. Must be certified by an accredited organization; AFAA, ACE, ACSM, NETA or equivalent. If teaching Yoga; 200 plus hour Yoga certification required. If teaching Pilates; Pilates certification required.A minimum of two years instructing is preferred. Hiring instructors certified to teach multiple modalities/formats.Certified by an accredited organization; AFAA, ACE, ACSM, NETA or equivalent.
