Job description

Position: Business Architect (Net-Centric)
Location: Alexandria, VA Work Environment: Hybrid Clearance Required: Secret
Status: Contingent Upon Contract Award
Knowesis is seeking a forward-thinking Senior Net-Centric Business Architect to support the DoD OIG OCIO in designing and executing business and operating models that drive transformation, efficiency, and strategic alignment. This role focuses on analyzing business capabilities, processes, and functions to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of analytical rigor, stakeholder engagement, and enterprise-level insight to help shape the future of DoD OIG's business architecture.
To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the position's security clearance requirements.
The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Business Capability Modeling
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews to gather insights across functional areas.
  • Facilitate the development of a business capability model aligned with the organization's value chain.
  • Decompose capabilities into business processes and create detailed process models.
  • Assess the health and maturity of existing business capabilities.
  • Identify gaps and recommend future-state roadmap strategies to address them.

Transformation & Strategic Planning
  • Support identification of digital opportunities to enhance mission delivery.
  • Analyze current technology investment prioritization and recommend improvements based on industry best practices.
  • Provide actionable insights to support organizational change, process improvement, and business transformation initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in business architecture, process modeling, or enterprise transformation.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as BIZBOK, TOGAF, or DoDAF.
  • Strong facilitation, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Experience working in federal environments or supporting large-scale organizational change.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
