In this Associate Software Development & Engineering role, you will play a meaningful part in advancing Schwab’s workplace technology strategy by contributing to the design, development, and modernization of scalable platforms that power critical workplace applications like Equity Administration, PCRA and Retirement Plan Services for millions of participants.


 You will collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams to solve complex technical challenges, strengthen platform performance and resilience, and deliver seamless user experiences on a scale. This includes engaging in modernization efforts such as API development and foundational system improvements, supporting integration and partnership capabilities, and helping address risk and compliance requirements through thoughtful engineering solutions. You will also gain exposure to emerging technologies, including AI-driven innovations, to improve efficiency, quality, and outcomes. What you have

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 1+ years of progressive experience in software development and engineering
  • Foundational experience with .NET technologies, including .NET Core / .NET 6+
  • Programming experience using C#
  • Exposure to ASP.NET Core for web services and RESTful API development
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, preferably SQL Server
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them to solve problems

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in software development and engineering, including hands-on coding and solution design
  • Experience contributing to modernization initiatives such as API development, microservices architecture, or cloud migration

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools
