Job description

Overview Bowhead seeks a New Equipment Trainer / Developer (NET) for forensic exploitation laboratory kits and digital evidence processing systems to provide onsite technical, training, and operational support to the Marine Corps Identity Operations Program. The New Equipment Technical Trainer will assist Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic with New Equipment Fielding and direct training support for Program of Record systems. This role focuses on training personnel to use forensic exploitation laboratory kits and digital evidence processing systems. The position will also involve supporting ongoing activities such as exercises, system testing, and operational requirements. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in technical instruction and a strong background in digital forensics processing and extraction. This position requires up to 70% CONUS and OCONUS travel in support of fielding events, military exercises, testing, training, and operational requirements. Responsibilities • Provide training on Program of Record systems during fielding events, onsite technical support and Forensics Subject Matter Expert (SME) support, to include troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair as needed. • Provide instruction and operational guidance related to forensic photography, latent print development, forensic chemistry, Document and Media Exploitation, and Program of Record equipment. • Provide training and exercise support for maintenance, operational usage, and changes to Program of Record equipment. • Plan, develop, and deliver both formal and informal training to maximize the effectiveness of end users to operate and sustain Program of Record equipment. • Develop New Equipment Training (NET) IAW Program Office standards for content and format in conjunction with systems engineers, testers, and technical writing staff. • Research existing US Government virtual training initiatives, leverage those initiatives where possible, and develop virtual / online training support when such training will lead to government cost savings. • Assist in developing, delivering, maintaining, and updating job aids for Program of Record capabilities. Individual job aids to be created shall include, but are not limited to: o Forensic Photography o Latent Print Development o Forensic Chemistry o DOMEX o DRONEX o MEDEX • Support developmental, operational, system verification, acceptance, and other Government-directed test events. • Collect technical data, document system performance, identify deficiencies, and contribute to test reports and after-action documentation. • Coordinate with Government personnel, engineers, logisticians, cybersecurity personnel, and program management to resolve technical issues and improve system readiness. • Proactively identify potential issues and provide recommended solutions. • Communicate effectively with different stakeholders of varying technical expertise and translate business requirements into technical specifications. • Effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical teams and people. • Multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree Education, English, Psychology and/or direct professional forensics training experience and certification. Working towards training certification or have previous training certification. • Seven (7) years of professional training experience in developing and delivering technical training, including needs assessment, curriculum development, and applying instructional design principles. • Direct experience with Program of Record systems and experience with field deployable forensic systems is a significant advantage. • Must be a US Citizen and hold at least a SECRET security clearance. • Have the ability to travel up to 50%, including OCONUS and austere or expeditionary assignments. • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Be detail oriented to ensure a high level of quality/accuracy SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold an In-Scope Secret clearance. Physical Demands: This position is based in Charleston, South Carolina, and requires up to 50% travel to Marine Corps installations, test sites, training locations, and operational environments worldwide. Travel may include extended assignments, weekends, and work in austere or expeditionary conditions. Duties are performed in office, classroom, laboratory, maintenance, warehouse, and field environments and may require prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, equipment assembly, and lifting or carrying technical equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation. #LI-MN1
