The Software Developer will serve as an integral member of the IT team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Design, build, and support new and existing custom software solutions and applications
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application issues across custom software solutions, integrations, and supporting cloud services
  • Collaborate with end users and the IT development team to define application requirements, technical specifications, acceptance criteria, and implementation priorities
  • Develop, maintain, and deploy software using distributed source control systems and modern DevOps platforms such as Azure DevOps and GitHub
  • Work with enterprise data stored in relational databases, document repositories, and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft SharePoint Online
  • Conduct code reviews, follow secure coding practices, and help enforce development standards for code quality, maintainability, performance, and reliability
  • Support fusion development initiatives by collaborating with business users and IT teams to design, govern, and support solutions built with Microsoft Power Platform tools such as Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Follow secure development, data governance, and responsible AI practices when designing, building, integrating, and supporting software solutions
  • Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures and demonstrate active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, plus at least five (5) years of professional software development experience, including experience developing cloud-based solutions
  • Experience building cloud-based solutions in Microsoft Azure, including provisioning, configuring, and managing cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Bicep or Terraform, and applying cloud design principles for scalability, security, reliability, and cost awareness
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to translate business needs into clear technical requirements
  • Experience integrating applications with Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Power Platform, or related enterprise collaboration and automation services
  • Designing, developing, or supporting AI-enabled applications, copilots, agents, or automation solutions using Microsoft cloud services and responsible AI practices
  • Experience working with modern software delivery practices, including Git-based source control, pull requests, code reviews, automated builds, automated testing, release management, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong programming experience in C# and .NET is required
  • Experience designing application architectures, APIs, integrations, and reusable components that support scalability, maintainability, observability, reliability, and secure data exchange
  • Proficiency in scripting and development languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or similar languages
  • Experience with Azure application services and security capabilities, including Azure Functions, containerized workloads, OAuth 2.0, managed identities, role-based access control, and secure application-to-service authentication patterns
  • Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL query development, data modeling concepts, and application data access patterns
  • Experience developing applications with Angular is preferred
