Job description

About the Role:

The Lead Plant Operator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing or processing plant to ensure efficient, safe, and continuous production. This role involves coordinating with various teams to optimize plant performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Lead Plant Operator will lead and mentor a team of operators, providing guidance and support to maintain high standards of quality and productivity. They will also be instrumental in implementing process improvements and ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and operated. Ultimately, the Lead Plant Operator plays a critical role in achieving production targets while upholding safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of plant operators and technicians to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations.
  • Monitor plant equipment and processes, identifying and resolving operational issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate plant operators to enhance team performance and professional development.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to schedule and oversee preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and prepare reports on plant performance and incidents.
  • Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency and quality.
