Job description

ROLE SUMMARY

The Pfizer Patient Services (PPS) Affordability Lead is responsible for leading a team dedicated to patient affordability solutions across the Pfizer portfolio, identifying and applying best practices, strategic alignment with brand teams, analytics & monitoring of affordability programs, and vendor management. These programs are critical to the organization and most importantly, our patients. They ensure patients are initiated on prescribed treatment, as quickly as possible, while balancing GTN impact, brand performance, organizational goals and objectives.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a critical role, responsible for shaping the future of Pfizer's affordability programs, as well as, enterprise-wide oversight of program operational compliance. This leader will:

  • Lead the continued evolution of access and affordability strategies across Pfizer, planning for market trends that impact patients (e.g., accumulators/ maximizers)
  • Assess and develop patient affordability programs (e.g., copay, coupon, bridge, eVoucher, Prior Authorization support) for all on-market brands
  • Proactively conduct competitive analysis to make recommendations on patient affordability programming
  • Manage enterprise copay program P&L through strong partnership with Finance
  • Work cross-functionally to provide direction on Gross-To-Net (GTN) strategy
  • Collaborate within the patient support organization to successfully pull-through access and affordability programs
  • Partner with PPS Patient Solution Insights and Analytics on analytics initiatives, to ensure consistent program performance measurement and insights
  • Partner with Digital to develop data management processes and platforms to support better understanding of affordability / copay data
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure programs are compliant and evolve as needed based on new laws / regulations
  • Manage vendor relationships to successfully execute copay program operations, and auxiliary tactics to ensure program success
  • Build a high performing team, creating business plans and setting priorities to achieve business objectives and goals. Influence across multiple external and internal stakeholders. Lead and develop direct, indirect and cross-business team

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, etc.) preferred
  • 12+ years' experience in affordability program strategy / design / analytics, patient services, pharmaceutical GTN finance, or related area required
  • 5+ years of people management experience required
  • Experience managing affordability / copay vendors to optimize programs
  • Demonstrated success in a highly fast-paced setting
  • Ability to influence without authority, setting business direction, priorities, and action plans
  • Strong project management, analytical, and organizational skills, with cross-functional teams of diverse colleagues
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and prior experience in presenting to senior leaders
  • Ability to oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact
  • Commitment to developing and coaching others

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $214,900.00 to $358,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
