Job description

Client Consulting Lead
Department: Client Teams
Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time
Location: US
Description
Human8 is at an inflection point. Demand for deep consumer insight is accelerating, and our clients need a trusted partner who can navigate complexity, unlock new stakeholders, and translate data into decisions. The Client Consulting Lead is the engine behind some of our most strategically important accounts; simultaneously protecting and growing existing relationships while relentlessly working to open new doors within and beyond the current Decision Making Unit (DMU). This is a role for someone that goes beyond maintaining the status quo and digs deeper to develop meaningful client relationships.
As an Client Consulting Lead, you own the commercial and delivery success of a portfolio of accounts totaling approximately $1-$2M with additional individual revenue goals to be determined. You do this by:
  • Deeply embedding yourself in clients' business challenges and translating Human8's full portfolio into tangible value.
  • Proactively expanding influence across various DMU, identifying and cultivating relationships with new stakeholders before the competition does.
  • Driving new business within existing accounts and leading proposal development in partnership with Business Development, for net-new clients.
  • Modelling what it looks like to use AI intelligently and ethically to accelerate insight, sharpen strategy, and multiply your impact.
  • Leading yourself and your teams through change, not by waiting for a roadmap, but by generating one.
Key Responsibilities
Growth, DMU Expansion & New Business
  • Maintains a clear account plan for every account: identify white space, engage untapped decision-makers, and convert cold introductions into warm relationships that generate incremental revenue.
  • Actively support and lead proposals for new business - bringing commercial creativity, industry fluency, and persuasive storytelling.
  • Provide real-time strategic counsel to clients and internal delivery teams, keeping projects on track and adding value beyond the brief.
  • Manage a set of accounts with responsibility for ensuring deliverables address client needs, add value and suggest future potential work.
  • Build account growth plans that set 12-month revenue trajectories, demonstrating progress rigorously and adapting when markets or client priorities shift.
  • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities with precision, matching the right Human8 capabilities to real client pain points rather than generic solutions.
  • Own the discipline and effectiveness of your pipeline to ensure forecast accuracy based on well-qualified opportunities and thoughtful solutions.
AI-Powered Ways of Working
  • Help clients understand how AI-enhanced insight can transform decision-making, positioning Human8 as a forward-thinking partner-not a legacy vendor.
  • Champion the intelligent use of AI across your workflow, from accelerating research synthesis to enriching presentations and sharpening strategic recommendations.
  • Stay ahead of emerging AI capabilities relevant to our industry, share knowledge with peers, and constructively challenge existing processes when better approaches emerge.
  • Apply critical thinking to AI outputs - knowing when to trust the model and when to dig deeper.
Future-Minded Transformation Leadership
  • Approach ambiguity with a solution-first mindset: when processes break, markets shift, or client needs evolve unexpectedly, you see opportunity, not obstacle.
  • Lead project teams with energy and purpose, coaching members toward best-in-class delivery and modeling high-performance behaviors.
  • Share knowledge generously-bring your expertise in research, industry, and client management into team forums to raise the collective bar.
  • Offer constructive, specific guidance to project managers and colleagues navigating complexity. You are a resource, not just a reviewer.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • A degree in a related field is beneficial, but we equally value demonstrable, equivalent experience. We welcome candidates from diverse educational backgrounds.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including at least 6 years in consulting, insights, or a client-facing strategic role.
  • Proven examples of DMU expansion and/or net-new client acquisition.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools in a professional context (e.g., research, synthesis, presentations, workflow automation).
  • Proven ability to grow accounts through new stakeholder engagement, strong relationship building, and compelling proposals.
  • Skilled across the full commercial cycle, from identifying opportunities and mapping DMUs to writing and presenting proposals, closing, and delivering.
  • A track record of winning new business, both through account expansion and new client acquisition, with measurable revenue results.
  • Proactive in adopting AI tools while applying sound judgment; comfortable articulating both the value and limits of AI to clients in a credible, practical way.
  • Curious, forward-looking, and thrives in ambiguity with resilience, energy, and a solutions-first approach to change.
  • Clear, direct, and collaborative; builds alignment and momentum across teams and stakeholders.
  • A trusted advisor to senior clients, with a deep understanding of their business and a consistent focus on delivering impact and identifying opportunities.
  • Highly collaborative, with a commitment to quality, follow-through, and building lasting partnerships.
