Job Description

As Senior Cost Manager, you will be involved in:

  • Lead the Architectural, Civil and Structural post contract cost control of several design packages  
  • Take ownership of change control and advise stakeholders on funding whether in-budget, contingency, risk or escalation  
  • Undertake tender reviews for governance, contractual and budget alignment 
  • Participate in programme wide periodic cash flow forecasts, adapting to dynamic schedules and scope 
  • Participate, in-person, in meetings with the client and various other stakeholders 
  • Provide periodic cost / project reports incorporating estimates at completion, early warnings, cashflows and variance tracking 
  • Support the Project Manager in risk reviews and risk quantification  
  • Support the preparation and management of cost estimates, value engineering and cost planning across all project phases  
  • Act as the primary client liaison for all cost-related matters 
  • Mentor and support junior cost consultants and project team members  
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in cost management  
  • A recognized university degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject with Canadian equivalency if obtained outside Canada (WES etc.)   
  • Membership of Relevant Professional Organizations such as the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS) or similar  
  • Reliability clearance with the Government of Canada or ability to obtain it quickly 
  • Demonstratable experience on at least two projects that have a total value of $100M+  

Differentiators 

  • Ability to provide expert advice on life cycle costing, benchmarking, and sustainability.  
  • Demonstrated contribution to business management, business development and client relationship management. 
  • Knowledge of and experience using CostX 
  • Knowledge of and experience using Revit

The base salary range for this full-time role is $90,000 - $140,000 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package.  Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
