RIS I is the delivery of regional IT services to the end user. We offer support of end user devices including desktop, workplace peripherals, and voice and video devices. We support local and campus area networks, including wireless and cable plant.

In this role, you will play a vital part in keeping our customers' network infrastructure secure, reliable, and efficient-supporting both day-to-day operations and exciting new projects.

Description of Job Duties/Responsibilities:

This position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.

Standard Operating Procedures:

  • Consistently follow established procedures for the Connectivity Operations Team, utilizing ticketing systems for issue tracking and detailed documentation for all network activities.

Project Support:

  • Provide hands-on support for network upgrade projects and initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation and minimal disruption to operations.

Hardware Replacement:

  • Respond promptly to hardware failures by replacing networking components such as switches, routers, and access points as needed.

End-User Support:

  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving end-user connectivity issues, delivering responsive and professional service.

Network Infrastructure Support:

  • Participate in the installation, maintenance, operation, and security of LAN infrastructure and network devices to support organizational needs.

Access Management:

  • Manage access to network segments and resources in accordance with established network access policies and security protocols.

System Updates:

  • Regularly update and refresh network hardware, operating systems, and software to ensure optimal functionality, performance, and security.

Change Management:

  • Strictly adhere to change and configuration management processes to maintain network integrity and compliance.

Required Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph. (#ts/sci) (#polygraph)

Required Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Two (2) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are required.

Education:

  • Associate's degree in engineering technology from an accredited college is required.
  • Two (2) additional years of network engineering experience may be substituted for the Associate's degree.

Certifications:

  • MUST be 8570 / CWIP compliant with either A+, Network+ (Net+), or Security+ certification.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with installation and configuration of network devices, such as firewalls, switches, routers, and cabling.
  • Familiarity with Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper devices is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, etc.).
  • Experience with network operating systems, hardware troubleshooting, and ticketing systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • The role requires significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling.
  • Some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling is required, as well as periodic work in tight areas.

Professional Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to follow established procedures.
