Net Developer Contract information

What is a net developer contract?

A .NET Developer Contract job is a temporary or project-based role where a developer specializes in building applications using Microsoft’s .NET framework. Contract developers are typically hired for a specific duration to work on software development, bug fixes, or system enhancements. They may work independently or as part of a team, collaborating with stakeholders to meet project goals. These roles can be on-site, remote, or hybrid and often require expertise in C#, ASP.NET, SQL, and related technologies. Contract positions offer flexibility and competitive pay but may not include traditional employment benefits.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a net developer contract?

To thrive as a .NET Developer Contractor, a strong command of C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, and object-oriented programming principles is essential, often backed by a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with development tools like Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and certifications such as Microsoft Certified: .NET Developer are highly regarded. Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and adaptability enable success when working with diverse teams and managing project requirements. These skills ensure that contractors can deliver robust, maintainable software solutions on time while effectively collaborating with clients and colleagues.

What types of projects and team structures can a .NET developer contractor expect to work with?

.NET Developer Contractors often work on a variety of projects, ranging from web and desktop application development to cloud-based solutions and integrations. Depending on the organization, you might collaborate with cross-functional teams that include project managers, UX/UI designers, QA testers, and other developers, or sometimes work more independently with minimal supervision. Projects can be short-term enhancements or longer-term, full-scale builds, and contractors are often expected to quickly adapt to new environments and existing codebases. This dynamic setup offers exposure to diverse technologies and processes, enabling contractors to expand their skill set and network across different industries.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Why you'll love this role:

  • Uncapped Earning Potential: A lucrative compensation package built for top-tier closers, which includes salary, commission, benefits, and substantial PTO.
  • Cutting-Edge Portfolio: Sell high-demand, high-velocity solutions in AI, Big Data, and product-driven innovation, giving you a massive competitive advantage in the market.
  • High-Velocity Culture: Join a fast-growing company where hunger, drive, and closing deals aren't just encouraged-they are heavily rewarded.
  • Remote-First Flexibility: Work remotely with targeted 10-25% travel to command the room, network at major industry events, and close deals in person.

A Day in the Life:
This is a pure hunter role. As a Senior Client Executive, you will think big, act fast, and win often. Your sole focus is breaking open new accounts, developing net-new business, and driving pipeline velocity.
  • Aggressive Pipeline Generation: Identify, target, and relentlessly pursue new enterprise opportunities to expand Sparq's market share from scratch.
  • Convert Prospects to Partnerships: Build and manage a high-velocity pipeline of qualified enterprise prospects, converting cold targets into multi-million-dollar initial wins.
  • Execute Targeted Campaigns: Partner closely with sales and marketing to build and deploy tailor-made outreach campaigns designed to crack open strategic accounts.
  • Command the Room: Attend premier industry events, conferences, and executive networking venues to position Sparq and hunt for net-new business leads.
  • Own the Close: Lead the creation of highly creative, high-impact proposals that showcase Sparq's expertise in AI, Big Data, and product-led transformation.
  • Navigate Procurement: Drive the deal across the finish line by expertly navigating complex enterprise procurement and legal processes, ensuring contracts are smart, fair, and favorable.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with revenue and engineering teams during the pre-sales process to pitch flawless technical solutions, ensuring a seamless hand-off once the contract is signed.

What it takes:
  • 8+ years of technology sales experience with a proven track record as an individual contributor.
  • A verifiable history of success as a pure hunter in competitive, quota-driven environments, specifically selling productized solutions and technical implementation services.
  • Elite prospecting and closing skills, with extensive experience selling directly to net-new senior technology and product leaders (CIO, CTO, VP/Director of Engineering or Product).
  • Strong technical fluency in digital engineering, app development, custom software solutions, complex headcount programs, and modern data/AI ecosystems.
  • High comfort level discussing emerging technologies, including OpenAI, AWS, Google, Snowflake, Microsoft, Databricks, Palantir, and modern data lake/data warehousing architectures.
  • Deep vertical acumen in regulated industries (e.g., Manufacturing, Finance, Transportation, Life Sciences) with an active network of enterprise contacts.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset: highly resourceful, self-motivated, resilient under pressure, and fueled by the thrill of winning new logos.

Salary:
We consider a variety of factors when making compensation decisions. We share this to ensure transparency and set expectations for those considering opportunities with us.
  • The beginning salary range for this role is $170,000 - $220,000
