Positional Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Observability Engineer to help drive its enterprise observability strategy, including a significant expansion of Dynatrace and implementation of IBM SevOne. This senior engineering role will provide technical leadership for observability platform architecture, reliability, scalability, governance, and cross-platform integration across enterprise environments.
The successful candidate will design and mature enterprise observability standards, enable AIOps capabilities, improve operational visibility, reduce alert fatigue, optimize observability costs, and support intelligent root cause analysis through AI-driven tooling such as Davis AI.
Role & Responsibility:
Tasks That Will Lead To Your Success
  • Design, engineer, and scale enterprise observability platforms including Dynatrace and IBM SevOne.
  • Define observability standards, patterns, telemetry models, and governance across application and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Lead platform reliability, scalability, and cross-tool integration initiatives.
  • Drive AIOps adoption using Davis AI, causal analysis, intelligent automation, and AI-driven operational analytics.
  • Develop strategies for enterprise log, metric, trace, and alert management.
  • Reduce alert noise, improve signal quality, and optimize monitoring costs.
  • Partner with application, infrastructure, and network engineering teams to expand observability capabilities.
  • Support enterprise monitoring best practices and operational resilience initiatives.
Required Experience
  • 8+ years of engineering experience supporting enterprise monitoring or observability platforms.
  • Deep expertise with Dynatrace, IBM SevOne, Datadog, or similar enterprise observability technologies.
  • Strong background in observability architecture, platform engineering, and enterprise monitoring.
  • Experience designing scalable monitoring, logging, metrics, and alerting solutions.
  • Experience with AIOps, Davis AI, intelligent automation, and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of governance, telemetry standards, and cost optimization for observability platforms.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Banking or financial services experience.
  • Experience supporting large enterprise observability transformations.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow ITOM, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, or related technologies.
Team & Environment
• Team of approximately 12 engineers spanning application performance monitoring, network performance monitoring, and observability platform engineering.
• Individual contributor role with no direct reports and no on-call responsibilities.
• Initial contract through May 2027 with strong potential for full-time conversion.
• Two interview rounds: hiring manager followed by leadership/senior engineer panel. Virtual interviews accepted; cameras expected.
