Job description

Permanent Nurse Practitioner โ€“ Neonatology

Position Type: Permanent
Specialty: Physician - Neonatology
Location: North Carolina.
Shift: 20 hours per day shift coverage (24-hour shift type), in collaboration with Neonatologists

Position Details:
  • Patient Population: Neonatal (Level III NICU & newborn nursery)
  • Setting: Hospital-based NICU
  • Responsibilities: Provide neonatal care in a 16-bed Level III NICU, manage admissions, collaborate with neonatologists, assist with newborn nursery coverage, participate in daily shift coverage and patient management
  • Required Procedures: Neonatal resuscitation and Level III NICU clinical management
  • EMR System: Not specified
  • Support Staff: 2 Neonatologists and 5โ€“6 NNPs
  • Days Per Month: Full-time schedule
  • On-Call/Weekends: 20 hours per day coverage including weekends in collaboration with Neonatologists

Submission Requirements:

  • Masterโ€™s Degree and/or Doctorate in Nursing
  • Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP only)
  • North Carolina license (or willing to obtain)
  • 2+ years employment experience as NNP (not including RN experience)
  • DEA (prior to start)
  • NPDB Self Query (within 30 days)
