Job description

Inside Sales amp; Solutions Professional | Orlando, FL
Build Relationships. Engineer Solutions. Create Customer Value.
At Mills amp; Nebraska, we do more than sell doors, frames, hardware, and related commercial construction products. We help owners, general contractors, architects, and project teams solve real jobsite and building-performance problems. We are looking for a solutions sales professional who combines relationship-building discipline, mechanical aptitude, pricing judgment, and a commitment to an exceptional end-to-end customer experience.
This is not a transactional counter role. It is a customer-facing, value-added sales position for someone who understands that the best solution is rarely just a product; it is the right combination of application, specification, availability, pricing, coordination, follow-through, and trust.
Role Snapshot
Primary Focus
Develop owner, contractor, and trade relationships while converting customer needs into practical, profitable solutions.
Ideal Background
Commercial construction exposure, architectural products, building materials, mechanical systems, or related solutions sales.
Core Strengths
Mechanical aptitude, problem solving, value engineering mindset, pricing discipline, and proactive follow-up.
Success Standard
Exceed expectations by delivering a smooth customer experience from first conversation through quote, order, coordination, delivery, and issue resolution.
What You Will Do
  • Build and maintain direct relationships with owners, general contractors, facility managers, project managers, estimators, and repeat commercial customers.
  • Listen for the real customer problem, then recommend practical solutions that balance performance, cost, availability, schedule, and long-term usability.
  • Prepare accurate quotes, review pricing relationships, manage order details, and follow up with urgency and professionalism.
  • Support customers with product selection, substitutions, value-added alternatives, and coordination across the sales, estimating, purchasing, and operations teams.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts, reactivate past relationships, and develop new project and customer opportunities.
  • Track customer needs, active opportunities, quotes, open issues, and follow-up commitments with disciplined communication.
  • Represent Mills amp; Nebraska as a trusted partner who helps customers reduce friction, avoid mistakes, and keep projects moving.
What We Are Looking For
  • 2-5 years of sales, customer service, estimating, project coordination, or account management experience; commercial construction exposure strongly preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and curiosity: someone who enjoys understanding how products work, how they are installed, and how they solve field problems.
  • A solutions-sales mindset with the ability to sell value, not just quote product numbers.
  • Demonstrated understanding of pricing relationships, margin awareness, bid competitiveness, customer expectations, and the cost of errors or delays.
  • Comfort building relationships directly with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal project stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, responsiveness, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Self-motivated, accountable, positive, team-oriented, and motivated to exceed customer and company expectations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CRM, estimating, ERP, or construction software experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills are preferred to support communication with our diverse customer base.
The Right Fit Will Be Someone Who
  • Can walk a customer through options and tradeoffs without defaulting to the cheapest answer.
  • Understands that speed matters, but accuracy and trust matter more.
  • Enjoys diagnosing problems, asking good questions, and creating clarity for customers.
  • Can coordinate details from quote through fulfillment and stay calm when jobs get messy.
  • Takes ownership of the customer experience and follows through until the issue is resolved.
Why Join Mills amp; Nebraska?
  • Be part of a long-standing commercial construction partner with a practical, customer-first culture.
  • Work in a role where sales ability, technical curiosity, and relationship discipline all matter.
  • Build a career path with exposure to owners, general contractors, project teams, and complex commercial construction needs.
  • Join a team that values professionalism, initiative, collaboration, accountability, and growth.
Benefits Include
  • 401(k)
  • Health insurance
  • Dental and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Career growth opportunities
  • Training and development
Ready to Grow With Us?
If you are a relationship-driven sales professional who likes solving problems, engineering better solutions, and delivering a customer experience that earns repeat business, we encourage you to apply today.
