QA/QC Technician/Inspector – Weldin/Piping Inspector (Pharmaceutical)About FST Technical ServicesFST Technical Services partners with clients in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, data center, and advanced manufacturing sectors to provide commissioning, QA/QC, validation, and engineering support services. We are committed to delivering quality-driven solutions in highly technical and regulated environments.Position SummaryFST Technical Services is seeking an experienced QA/QC Inspector with welding/piping experience to support quality activities on a pharmaceutical/life sciences construction project in Clayton, North Carolina. This role focuses on visual weld inspection (VT), documentation review, field verification, and compliance monitoring to ensure installations meet industry codes, client specifications, and cGMP requirements.Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Visual Testing (VT) inspections in accordance with ASNT Level II certification requirements.
  • Inspect stainless steel process piping, hygienic welds, structural supports, and other mechanical systems.
  • Verify compliance and project specifications.
  • Identify non-conformances and issue quality deficiency reports.
  • Support walkdowns and system turnover activities.
  • Ensure adherence to cGMP and FDA-regulated construction standards.
  • Maintain detailed inspection documentation and daily field reports.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years QA/QC inspection experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated life sciences environments.
  • Experience in semiconductor or other advanced manufacturing will be considered
  • NDT VT Level II inspection experience
  • Strong knowledge of hygienic weld inspection and sanitary piping systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, welding procedures, and specifications.
  • Experience working in cleanroom or classified environments.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current ASNT NDT Level II – Visual Testing (VT) certification is great but not a definitive requirement
  • CWI – current or former certification
  • At least 5+ years of QAQC experience in advanced manufacturing environment 
Work Environment
  • On-site role at pharmaceutical or biotech facilities.
  • Outdoor work environment in varying weather conditions to be expected.
  • Ability to walk extensive distances throughout the day necessary
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 40lbs when necessary
  • Ability and comfort working at heights from ladders, scaffolding or other lift systems required. Harness systems may be required at times
  • May include extended hours, weekends, or travel.
