Responsibilities of the Position Include:
โ€ข Must perform and report findings for NDT inspections, ability to coordinate with and
communicate effectively with all parties/departments.
โ€ข Verify the implementation of contract documents
โ€ข Produce inspection reports and maintain detailed records of work performed
โ€ข Mentoring and training of staff as assigned.
โ€ข Recognizes complex problems and assists in bringing to resolution
โ€ข Proficient in applying standard inspection testing techniques and procedures for the verification of material
โ€ข Able to read and interpret complex blueprints, customer/vendor specifications, and shop drawings
โ€ข Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
โ€ข Must be detail oriented, have a professional attitude, confidentiality, and strong ethic values
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections
โ€ข Must be able to use a tape measure and basic metrology equipment I.E (Micrometer, scales, and calipers)
โ€ข Understand and experience in AWS D1.1, D1.2, D1.6, and D17.1. Also -1688, -271, -248 NAVSEA experience preferred but not required.
โ€ข Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
NDT Level II Certification โ€“Must be able to meet one or more of the requirements below:
โ€ข VT-210 Method Experience Hours
โ€ข PT-210 Method Experience Hours
โ€ข MT-280 Method Experience Hours
  • Documented training and classroom hours for each method per SNT-TC-1A or the ability to meet the requirements within 90 days.
  • Experience with GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, and GTAW welding highly preferred
  • Ability to follow instructions given both verbally and in written form.
  • Willingness to learn and work to the best of his/her abilities and have a dependable work ethic
  • Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form including but not limited to safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals
  • Ability to use a wide variety of inspection tools
Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Knowledge of Tech Pub 1688 and AWS welding codes
  • Past working experience with Defense contractors
  • Experience with Shop Tech E2 ERP system or similar workflow
  • Past experience working for or at a fabrication facility
  • Current or previous CWI
  • Proof of class training time and on the job training time preferred
