Summary

The First Electronics Corporation (FEC) specializes in the manufacture of over-molded, extra flexible, multi-conductor, fully EMI-shielded cable assemblies, harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies custom built for military applications and harsh environments. FEC also produces electro-mechanical assemblies and systems for custom applications, all with no minimum quantity requirements. FEC is AS9100D and IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified.

FEC has aggressive plans for continued growth as a world class leader in custom cable manufacturing and therefore has an immediate need for an experienced Final Inspector in the Quality Control Department.

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting cable and wire products to ensure they meet all quality standards, specifications, and regulations. This includes performing visual inspections, and dimensional measurements. The QC Inspector must also be able to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.

The Quality Control Inspector is a respectful team-player that works well with diverse internal team members. This position is ambitious, self-motivated, results-driven, and demonstrates problem solving skills with sound judgment. This role is also responsive, flexible, accessible, detail oriented, willing to embrace change and proactively adjust plans. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect materials, components, and final product to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Perform visual inspections of cable and wire products to identify defects.
  • Perform incoming inspections as needed, review incoming inspection documentation and scan into database.
  • Identify and log incoming shelf-life material. Assist when needed with shelf-life material audits.
  • Perform in-process inspections based on schedule issued by Quality Manager.
  • When required, compile and/or review First Article Inspection Reports for wither incoming product or for product in Final Inspection.
  • When required, assist with document submissions, such as source requests, or First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Measure dimensions of cable and wire products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Document the results of all inspections and tests.
  • Detect and report unusual or non-conforming documentation, materials, conditions, or products to Quality Manager.
  • Work with various internal personnel and departments to communicate and resolve quality issues.
  • Create, update, compile, save and maintain documentation into internal database.
  • When required, help with continuous improvement efforts.
  • Comply with company policies and quality management system.
  • Maintain and create a clean, uncluttered environment that reduces waste and optimizes productivity by following the 5S steps: sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain.
  • More additional responsibilities may be applicable per the Quality Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience in quality control, preferably in the cable and wire manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with visual inspection and dimensional measurement.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office and Adobe.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient with computers and comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
