Job description

Overview

i3 is seeking a Senior Quality Inspector to support a unique and complex US Government production/engineering effort located in Huntsville, Alabama. The qualified candidate will be responsible for performing receiving, in-process, and final inspection of mechanical and electrical assemblies to ensure compliance with drawings, work instructions, test requirements, and applicable quality standards. The position involves working closely with production, engineering, quality, and supplier personnel to identify and document nonconformances, support inspection and test activities, and provide practical input into test plans, procedures, and process improvements. The candidate should have experience working in a controlled manufacturing environment and be familiar with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality system requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect mechanical assemblies, electrical assemblies, wiring, and completed systems
  • Create drawings, schematics, work instructions, and acceptance criteria interpretations
  • Perform in-process, receiving, and final inspection of hardware
  • Use standard mechanical and electrical inspection equipment
  • Document inspection results and nonconformances
  • Participate in test plan, inspection plan, and procedure development
  • Travel approximately 10% to support the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 6-12 years of relevant experience in quality control and/or assurance, preferably in the military and/or aerospace industry. 
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 9001 requirements
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, aviation, or another controlled manufacturing environment
  • Ability to provide practical quality input to engineering and production
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • U. S. Citizenship is required.
