Job description

The Nerve Conduction Study Technologist is a member of the outpatient neurology care team who performs nerve conduction studies and assists with electromyography (EMG) procedures under physician supervision. This role supports accurate diagnosis of neuromuscular conditions while ensuring patient comfort, safety, privacy and high-quality data acquisition.
Responsibilities:
  • Preparing patients for electrodiagnostic testing, including verifying orders, patient identification, explaining procedure and obtaining relevant history.
  • Perform nerve conduction velocity (NCV/NCS) studies under the neurologist supervision, ensuring accurate electrode placement and high- quality signal acquisition, identify technical artifacts.
  • Assist neurologist during EMG procedure as needed.
  • Accurately document in the EMR.
  • Adhere to policies, infection control standards, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and fully stocked procedure room.
  • Performs other tasks as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 2 years experience, preferred.
Education: Associate degree in Electroneurodiagnostic technology or equivalent program, required.
Licenses / Certifications: Certification as a Registered Nerve Conduction Technologist (R. NCS.T) or equivalent preferred. Current BLS required.
