  • Primarily onsite (limited ad-hoc telework)

Clearance Requirement

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI) — REQUIRED at time of hire
  • Must be in-scope (current investigation within 7 years)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Law Enforcement / Counterterrorism Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a Department of Defense program focused on terrorist screening, vetting, and identity intelligence operations.

This role provides senior-level advisory and operational support to interagency stakeholders, including DoD, NCIS, and federal law enforcement partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level expertise supporting counterterrorism (CT), law enforcement (LE), and security policy initiatives
  • Analyze and support terrorist screening database (TSDB) alerts and adjudication processes
  • Interface with:
    • FBI Terrorist Screening Center (TSC)
    • Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC)
    • Military Criminal Investigative Organizations
  • Support DoD physical security, personnel security, and insider threat programs
  • Review, develop, and implement policies related to identity vetting and threat analysis
  • Participate in interagency coordination meetings and provide strategic recommendations
  • Prepare reports, briefings, and analytical products for leadership

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in:
    • DoD, Military, Intelligence, or Counterterrorism operations
  • 5+ years of experience:
    • Using law enforcement and intelligence community databases
    • Assessing derogatory or threat-related information
  • 5+ years supporting:
    • Terrorist screening or vetting processes
    • TSDB alert review and adjudication workflows

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with:
    • NCIS, FBI, DHS, DIA, or Joint Staff environments
  • Familiarity with:
    • IMESA, TSDB, or identity intelligence systems
  • Experience supporting:
    • Insider threat or force protection programs
  • Strong interagency coordination experience
