Description

Trinity Ridge in Hickory is hiring a Full-Time Transportation Aide with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, with some varied times.

Transportation Aide is primarily responsible for scheduling and transporting residents outside of the facility for medical appointments.

Job Type: Full-time

Work Location: In person

Position Purpose/Summary: The Transportation Aide is primarily responsible for scheduling and transporting of residents for medical services provided outside the facility.

Essential Functions (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)

The Transportation Aide, in accordance with Federal and State standards and regulations, LSC and facility philosophies, objectives, and policies, effectively:

1. Coordinates with facility staff on all medical appointments outside the facility.

2. Assures proper medical information is provided to the medical provider and/or the facility staff, as needed. Reports any pertinent medical information and follow-up care to facility staff.

3. Delivers lab samples, etc., to hospital or other medical facility as needed.

4. Responsible for maintaining facility vehicle usage log and reporting any malfunction of that vehicle

5. Maintains gas level in vehicle sufficient for next use.

6. May courier deliveries between other facilities in the area, as needed.

7. Relieves, as necessary, business office personnel to answer phone, deliver mail, greet visitors, etc., as assigned by the DON and/or Administrator.

8. Submit billing charges/mileage information to Accounts Receivable.

9. Completes other assigned duties as assigned that may be necessary for the orderly operation of the facility.

10. Reflects LSC's mission, vision, values, and customer services standards in daily interactions.

Qualifications

Qualifications (Minimum Job Requirements): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Familiarity with industry and industry terms, equipment, requirements, and guidelines.

Specific skills/abilities : Proven ability to read and write English sufficient to understand business correspondence and policy statements; ability to speak clearly with correct pronunciation and communicate effectively with staff and outside vendors, physicians, etc. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, email).

Specialized knowledge, licenses, etc.: Valid motor vehicle operator's license and current proof of insurability. Must have acceptable motor vehicle record per the Driver's License/Motor Vehicle Records Review policy.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds; bending, reaching.
  • Ability to assist in the transferring and repositioning of individuals of various weights following established safe lifting procedures.
  • Ambulatory throughout all areas of facility.
  • Operate automobile and 12-passenger bus with lift-gate
