Crane Operator (NCCCO Certified)

Location: Mobile, AL & Pascagula MS
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Day Shift / Night Shift / Overtime Available
Pay: $32 -$34 hr (.72 a mile for travel)


Position Summary

We are seeking experienced Crane Operators to support port operations, heavy industrial projects, cargo handling, and travel-based assignments throughout multiple job sites. Candidates must possess a current NCCCO Certification and have experience safely operating cranes in port, industrial, construction, or heavy equipment environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong operational knowledge, a commitment to safety, and the ability to travel for project assignments as needed.


Responsibilities

  • Safely operate mobile, crawler, hydraulic, rough terrain, or lattice boom cranes as assigned
  • Perform lifting, loading, unloading, and material handling operations at ports, terminals, industrial facilities, and project sites
  • Inspect cranes and equipment daily to ensure safe operating conditions
  • Interpret load charts and determine safe lifting capacities
  • Communicate effectively with riggers, signal persons, supervisors, and site personnel during lifting operations
  • Perform pre-operational safety checks and routine maintenance inspections
  • Follow all OSHA, DOT, site-specific, and company safety procedures
  • Assist with crane setup, tear-down, and mobilization as required
  • Complete required operational and inspection documentation accurately
  • Travel to various job sites and work flexible schedules including overtime, weekends, and nights as needed


Qualifications

  • Current NCCCO Crane Operator Certification required
  • 1+ years of crane operating experience preferred
  • Experience operating cranes in ports, industrial sites, heavy construction, or cargo environments preferred
  • Ability to read and understand load charts and lift plans
  • Strong understanding of crane safety procedures and rigging practices
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively for projects
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and site-specific safety requirements


Preferred Certifications

  • NCCCO Certification (Required)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
  • CDL License preferred
  • TWIC Card preferred
  • Rigging and Signal Person Certifications a plus
