Title: Head Coach - Women's Tennis

Subdivision: I A Womens Tennis
Department: Intercollegiate Athletics
Campus Location: Main Campus
General Summary
Recruit, counsel and coach all student-athletes participating in the specific varsity sport program.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to any and all NCAA, Mid-American Conference and Eastern Michigan University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.
  • Organize and direct all activities of a varsity sport.
  • Counsel and advise student-athletes with academic or personal problems.
  • Direct the recruitment of prospective high school student-athletes to Eastern Michigan University.
  • Supervise assistant or graduate assistant coach, if applicable.
  • Assist in the scheduling of athletic contests.
  • Determine the amount and quality of equipment and supplies to be ordered.
  • Monitor all expenditures associated with varsity team budget.
  • Perform various community services and functions such as clinic and speaking engagements.
  • Perform fundraising activities.
  • Instruct varsity credit classes, as assigned by the Department.
  • Perform related departmental duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is required.
Previous player experience in the assigned sport at the college level is necessary.
One year previous experience instructing and/or coaching in the assigned sport is necessary.
Knowledge of NCAA policies is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous recruitment, scheduling, training, and sports fund raising experience is desirable.
