Position Summary Information
Responsibilities
Assist in the care, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of injured student-athletes. Work with team physicians/office staff to coordinate referrals, office visits and surgeries. Furthermore, the assistant will provide direct athletic training coverage for assigned intercollegiate athletics teams as determined by supervisor. Coverage will involve practice and games, will include nights, weekends and travel. Supervise graduate assistants. Administrative duties will include coordinating the secondary insurance program for student-athlete medical expenses. Will be required to abide by all Delta State University, Gulf South Conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Masters Degree Required. NATABOC Certification Required. Eligible for State of Mississippi Athletic Training Licensure/current holder of license. CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
Minimum of 2 years experience post NATABOC certification.
