Northern State University, home to Wolves athletics, which sponsors 15 NCAA Division II intercollegiate varsity sports that compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NSIC), is seeking a Head Swimming and Diving Coach.
The Head Coach responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Leading a competitive NCAA Division II women's swimming and diving program
• Day to day operations of the program, practice and season planning
• Recruitment of qualified student-athletes
• Academic success of student-athletes
• Competition preparation and strategy
• Student-athlete development
• Meet scheduling, travel coordination
• Budget management
• Equipment purchasing
• Hiring and managing graduate assistant coach
• Organizing swim lessons and clinics in support of the program
• Adherence to NSIC and NCAA rules and regulations
• Fundraising and general administrative duties
• Other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Athletics
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred).
• 3-5 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
• Strong knowledge of swim and dive rules, techniques, and strategies.
• Competion experience at the collegiate level preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues, student-athletes, and administrators.
• Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.

About Northern State University: Northern is one of 16-member institutions of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). Through generous donor support, Northern has transformed its athletic facilities in recent years. As of July 2021, more than $60 million has been raised for the Educational Impact Campaign, a transformational project that has resulted in a $40 million on-campus regional sports complex, including the new Dacotah Bank Stadium for football and Koehler Hall of Fame softball field, opening in August 2021. It has also resulted in a state-of-the-art football practice and soccer competition facility, the $6.5 million Athletic and Recreation Fields, which was completed in October 2018. Numerous facility improvements have also been made to the Barnett Center, including a $525,000 renovation to Wachs Arena and Don Meyer Court in 2019, which involved removing the entire concrete floor of the arena and replacing with a new maple, Robbins MVP parquet style floor that is level with the track surface. Also, $800,000 in technology upgrades were finished in 2019, including a new center-hung Daktronics 4-sided videoboard display, the largest collegiate center-hung in the state of South Dakota.
