Graduate Assistant - Athletics (Field Hockey)
Coker University is seeking qualified applicants for a Graduate Assistant Field Hockey Coach position within its NCAA Division II athletics program. This position is designed for an individual who is passionate about collegiate athletics and committed to gaining hands-on experience in coaching, recruiting, and student-athlete development.
Position Summary
The Graduate Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach in all aspects of operating a successful NCAA Division II program, including recruiting, practice planning, game preparation, and administrative duties. This position also emphasizes the holistic development of student-athletes in alignment with the University's mission.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily practice planning, organization, and on-field/court coaching
  • Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes in accordance with NCAA regulations
  • Support game-day operations, including scouting reports and film breakdown
  • Monitor student-athlete academic progress and promote academic success
  • Assist with team travel coordination and logistics
  • Contribute to strength & conditioning and player development programs
  • Engage in fundraising, alumni relations, and community outreach initiatives
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Athletics Department

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Acceptance into a graduate program at Coker University
  • Previous playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Commitment to NCAA compliance and student-athlete development
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
