Job description

Department:
UCF Athletics
Position provides strategic leadership and oversight of athletic equipment services for 16 NCAA Division I sports, with primary responsibility for Football. This position oversees the administration, organization, and supervision of equipment operations, ensuring efficient procurement, inventory control, safety management, and distribution of athletic equipment and apparel in compliance with UCF, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations, as well as the National Operating Committee on Standard Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety standards.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Direct and administer equipment operations for 16 NCAA Division I sports, with primary oversight of Football, including daily operations, practice/game support (home/away), team travel logistics and records management.
  • Lead all aspects of football equipment services, including ordering, fitting, issuing, maintenance, locker room operations, and sideline management in coordination with coaching and operations staff.
  • Manage the procurement, inventory control, distribution, and lifecycle management of athletic equipment and apparel across all sport programs.
  • Develop and administer equipment budgets, with primary responsibility for football; manage vendor relationships, review and adherence to related contracts (Nike, etc.), and purchasing strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA, Conference, University, NOCSAE, and OSHA regulations, including equipment safety standards and audit requirements.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate equipment staff, including full-time, part-time, and student employees; oversee staffing plans and daily operations.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive inventory program encompassing the distribution, collection, inspection, maintenance and disposal of equipment, shoes, and apparel.
  • Develop and implement policies and industry best practices relative to area of operation.
  • Oversee equipment facilities and laundry operations for multiple facilities across campus, ensuing adherence to branding and licensing standards while maintaining clean, organized, and efficient work environments.
  • Oversee central receiving activities for Athletics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree and two (2) years of experience; or a bachelor's degree and four (4) years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in Division 1 or higher-level equipment operations.
  • Experience working with Division 1 football programs or higher.
  • Ability to function in fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

Due to the nature/scope of Athletics and Athletics events, position may require work during evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as the ability to stand / walk for extended periods of time and occasional travel.
