Role Description The Manufacturing Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Whitsett, NC. This role is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes for wire harness, cable, and electromechanical assembly operations. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing production workflows, designing and improving tooling and fixtures, creating process documentation and work instructions, and supporting new product introductions. The Manufacturing Engineer collaborates closely with production, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve issues, reduce waste, improve throughput, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. The role also involves data-driven problem solving, continuous improvement activities, and providing technical support to operators and technicians to sustain efficient, reliable operations.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong knowledge of Manufacturing Processes and Manufacturing Engineering to design, implement, and improve production workflows.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Industrial Engineering to optimize layouts, methods, and resource utilization, and to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Candidates should possess Mechanical Engineering skills to support tooling design, equipment selection, and mechanical problem solving in a production environment.
  • Candidates should possess hands-on familiarity with Machining or similar fabrication methods to support prototyping, fixture development, and process refinement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in electronics, wire harness, cable assembly, or electromechanical manufacturing is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to use CAD tools, production data analysis, and basic statistical techniques for process improvement.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively on the manufacturing floor and in cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is beneficial.
