Job description

Position: Machinist Horizontal Lathe

Schedule: 2nd shift

Schedule: Air-conditioned Modern Shop located in Northwest Houston amp; room for advancement for the right individual

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for setting up and operating conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing the following duties.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Experience on CNC lathe or mill
  • Install chuck jaws and or fixtures on machine
  • Set-Up CNC Machines using edge finder or probe to locate program zero
  • Read in and adjust program speeds, feeds, depth of cuts as required
  • Machine part to drawing
  • Measure part, complete inspection report and adjust offsets
  • May perform any other work-related functions as deemed necessary and appropriate by immediate supervisorv

Core Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 3 years experience on CNC Machines or Manual Machines
  • Must be able to read and understand G-Codes and M-Codes using Fanuc controls.
  • Able to perform jobs duties with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Experience is machining valve components a plus
  • Able to perform these jobs duties with or without reasonable accommodations

Other:

  • Must be able to machine exotic machines materials such as Titanium and Inconel
  • Ability to read blueprints and specifications and produce precision work.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding
  • Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills
  • Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy
  • Works well meeting multiple deadlines with the ability to deliver on time
