Job description

TSC in Silver Spring, MD, is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer to support activities related to Model and Simulation of the Navy's Combat Systems This position will focus on customer interactions and task management for M&S development and testing as well as execution and reporting to Navy and Missile Defense Agency leadership. Areas of responsibility include Navy Anti-Air Warfare (AAW) and Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) systems.
The position supports various systems engineering efforts for sophisticated radar, communications, and weapons systems in a software model based environment. Data analysis and assessment of fielded systems (hardware and software) will be performed.
TSC has assembled a well-knit team of junior and senior systems engineers and computer scientists that perform systems engineering in support of critical US Navy functions.
Responsibilities:
  • Combat System performance assessment via simulation: simulation set-up and execution as well as data analysis and results presentation.
  • Managerial direction of M&S: model development, enhancements or error correction.
  • Reporting of community activities and expectations to senior staff.
  • Regular and frequent interaction with US Government customers; responsibilities will include both technical and operational tasks.
  • Documentation and presentation, including presentation to mixed audiences of technical, operational, and managerial staff.
  • Significant interaction with other TSC radar system and modeling & simulation engineers; a great opportunity for career development.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years experience in Combat System engineering and assessment
  • 5+ years experience in model and simulation development and execution
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or comparable technical degree well-grounded in Physics and Math.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong written and oral communication will also be required for both daily and presentation duties.
  • Experience in combat system design evaluation and testing, including sensors, command and control, and weapons.
  • Interest in Navy's AEGIS Combat System and Defense technology.
  • Willingness to work on blend of technical and operational tasks
  • Statistical analysis
  • Signal processing and/or track filtering experience.

In compliance with applicable pay transparency laws, the expected salary range for this position is $90,000- $172,000 per year, depending on experience and location. This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus and may include equity or incentive compensation as part of the total rewards package.
