Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITIONThe Maintenance Controller is responsible for supporting and coordinating all aviation maintenance operational activities for Apollo MedFlight. Reporting to the Director of Quality, this role ensures strict compliance with applicable federal regulations, industry standards, and the companyโ€™s General Operations Manual (GOM). The Maintenance Controller serves as a critical point of contact to maintain maintenance safety, operational effectiveness, and regulatory conformity throughout the organization.UNDERSTAND ESSENTIAL AND NONESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Approve maintenance plans, oversee Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events and authorize aircraft โ€œReturn of Serviceโ€ following any maintenance activities. Communicate effectively with all relevant parties to ensure the highest standards of safety for aircraft, crew, and technicians while minimizing disruptions to operations. Reject any maintenance work that does not company with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), manufacturer-approved data, customer requirements, and company policies as outlined in the General Operations Manual (GOM) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Utilize the Return to Service Matrix and Technical Manuals to verity that all maintenance is properly completed. Collaborate closely with the Operations Department to ensure aircraft availability aligns with operational demands. Monitor maintenance data software to track and report all maintenance work performed; review Work Orders for completeness and accuracy; promptly address discrepancies with Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) and Regional Maintenance Managers (RMMs). Coordinate with Quality Control to ensure timely and accurate entry of maintenance data into collection software and proper logbook documentation. Serve as the primary point of contact for all maintenance discrepancies impacting daily operations and escalate issues to Apollo MedFlight leadership as necessary. Coordinate with Dispatch, Flight Crews, Operations, Quality Control, and the Parts Department to ensure all aircraft maintenance adheres to manufacturer-approved data, customer requirements, company policies, (GOM, SOPs and FARs). Notify Quality Control regarding any Minimum Equipment List (MEL) escalations that exceed prescribed time limits. Provide quality oversight over all maintenance activities and offer input and recommendations to the Director of Maintenance (DOM) to address and correct deficiencies. Manage fleet-wide Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) registrations and aircraft registration renewals. Maintain and update the Approved Vendors List, including all required supporting documentation. Track and analyze engine trend data across the fleet to support reliability and safety initiatives. Compile, organize, and file Weekly and Daily Checklists related to the Fuel Quality Program monthly. Gather, organize, and file Field Mechanicโ€™s Checklists monthly to ensure compliance and quality. Support the Director of Quality (DOQ) and DOM in collecting and reporting data for Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) and Safety Risk Data (SRD) reports as needed. Generate and distribute end-of-month maintenance reports for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure all Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) and Flight Manual Supplements (FMS) are current and up to date. Valid driverโ€™s license. Regular and reliable attendance.MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Must possess a current and valid FAA A&P Certificate. 7 yearsโ€™ experience in maintaining aircraft and documenting maintenance in logbooks. Knowledge of aircraft inspections/audit processes and practices. Knowledge of aircraft maintenance programs and technical standards. Be familiar with and have working knowledge of the applicable Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form to various levels of the organization. Commitment to make best efforts to attend any/all scheduled meetings and events as requested by the company. Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Some experience with maintaining and/or recordkeeping of Bell 407, Bell 429, Airbus EC135, Airbus EC145, and/or King Air 90 aircraft. General knowledge of Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 requirements of Bell 407, Bell 429, Airbus EC135, Airbus EC145, and/or King Air 90 aircraft.
