Senior Instructor - Naval Postgraduate School (NPS)

IDIQ Research & Education Support (RES) MAC
Location: Monterey, CA (InResidence Required; Hybrid/Remote May Be Possible)
Clearance: U.S. Citizenship Required; Ability to Obtain and Maintain DoD CAC
Salary: $148,000 -$176,000

Position Overview

We are looking to hire qualified Senior Instructors to support the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) under the IDIQ Research & Education Support (RES) MAC. These roles provide full lifecycle academic course development and instructional delivery for both undergraduate and graduatelevel programs that enhance the operational effectiveness of U.S. Navy and Department of Defense personnel.

This position is based in Monterey, CA, with inresidence teaching required. Hybrid or remote delivery may be possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and update Government Furnished Information (GFI), including syllabi, lecture materials, and assessments
  • Develop comprehensive course materials: syllabus, lecture slides, reading lists, labs, homework, quizzes, and final exams
  • Deliver inresidence and/or hybrid instruction at NPS
  • Record instructional sessions using governmentapproved distance learning platforms when required
  • Conduct laboratory sessions (if applicable)
  • Monitor student performance and provide midquarter progress assessments to the Technical Point of Contact (TPOC)
  • Grade assignments, exams, and projects in a timely manner
  • Maintain weekly office hours (3-4 hours)
  • Provide final grade recommendations and upload approved grades into the NPS academic tracking system
  • Maintain a complete course journal documenting materials, updates, and instructional observations
  • Coordinate closely with the TPOC throughout the period of performance
  • Support transition activities at the conclusion of the course or task order

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Undergraduate-Level Instruction:
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in academic course development and delivery
  • Graduate-Level Technical Instruction:
  • Minimum 20 years of experience developing and delivering graduatelevel courses, particularly in advanced engineering or defenserelated technical disciplines

Education

  • Undergraduate-Level Instruction: Master of Science (MS) in a relevant technical field
  • Graduate-Level Instruction: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in a related discipline

Certifications / Clearance

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC)

Other Requirements

  • Ability to teach inresidence in Monterey, CA for required periods
  • Strong academic writing, curriculum development, and instructional delivery skills
  • Experience working with military or DoD-affiliated students preferred
