Description

The Senior Inventory & Logistics Manager at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren serves as the principal authority for supply chain management, material sustainment, and lifecycle logistics support. This role bridges technical execution with strategic program support, managing high-value assets and ensuring full audit compliance across complex naval programs.

Core responsibilities:

Lifecycle Logistics & Sustainment:ย 

  • Conducting lifecycle supportability analyses to optimize material readiness and sustainment strategy
  • Participating in Independent Logistics Assessments (ILAs) to identify system vulnerabilities and program risks
  • Establishing comprehensive maintenance and support concepts for active and pipeline naval systems

Inventory Control & Audit Readiness

  • Overseeing and tracking physical inventories of high-value defense property, equipment, and materials
  • Leading complex inventory reconciliation efforts to ensure 100% compliance with Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) standards
  • Establishing automated and physical inventory controls to prevent material loss and supply bottlenecks

Program & Production Management Support

  • Collaborating with Program Managers and Production Managers to develop and review logistics procurement and management processes
  • Managing life-cycle logistics areas including support equipment, test equipment, technical orders, data, and spares
  • Coordinating cross-functional requirements for training, supply, support manpower, facility management, packaging, storage, and transportation
  • Analyzing system reliability, maintainability, and availability (RMA) to refine provisioning strategies
  • Managing specialized logistical constraints including shelf-life tracking, design interface, and computer resources

Requirements
  • Eight years of experience in the field of logistics and material sustainment performing logistics tasks to include life cycle supportability analysis; review and developing inputs of Integrated Logistics Support Plans, participating in independent logistics assessments and establishing maintenance and support concepts
  • Five years of experience of overseeing and tracking physical inventories and inventory reconciliation
  • Three years of experience in supporting the Program Manager and/or Production Manager with the development and review of logistics procurement and management processes of life cycle logistics areas such as support equipment, test equipment, technical orders/data, spares, training, supply, support manpower and personnel, facility, packaging, storage, transportation, reliability maintainability, availability, provisioning, shelf life, design interface, and computer resources
