Responsible for setting up and operating machines and equipment safely, accurately, and timely in the assigned department.

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure that production standards are met by efficiently running the machines and equipment

•Set up, operate, maintain equipment and tear down as instructed

•Run product at line speed as scheduled by Production Supervisor

•Maintain ongoing communication with Production Supervision, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance as it relates to equipment performance and down time

•Follow safety procedures and checklist for startup, emergency stop, and restart of the lines after down time

•Follows all work safety policies and guidelines, such as Lock Out – Tag Out

•Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and /or safety issues/concerns

•Adheres to all USDA and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) product standards and guidelines

•Maintains a clean and organized area

•Cross train on other equipment/areas as needed

•Maintain equipment records through paper logs or on assigned electronic device accurately and timely

•Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience)

·High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

·Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States

·Must pass a background check, drug screen and pre-employment physical

·Must be able to use basic math and typing skills

·Ability to pass Lock Out – Tag Out training

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

•Ability to learn and to perform work on all equipment within assigned department

•Able to work in a fast-paced environment

•Works independently and self-motivated in performing job tasks

•Communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

•Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment

•Knowledge of machines and equipment

Working Conditions

•Work is performed in a food processing plant with a high noise level, storage coolers/facilities.

•Position requires working around processing plant equipment.

•Must be physically capable of working extended hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends if needed and in varying elements that could include damp, cold, wet, hot or warm environment, standing for long periods of time.

•This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment.

•The noise level of the office environment is usually moderate; the noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection.
