Job description

  • Act as a technical individual contributor on a small multi-person analytics team
  • Collaborate with Cat Digital and Global Service business teams to maximize value from digital products and services
  • Perform data cleaning, analysis, quantitative analytics, and modeling
  • Apply machine learning, statistical modeling, and causal inference to generate insights and measurable business value
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis, data mining, and data preparation across complex datasets
  • Develop, deploy, and productionize predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions and machine learning models
  • Develop and implement natural language processing algorithms and models for textual data
  • Present methods, results, and conclusions to the analytics team, leadership, technical leaders, managers, and business partners
  • Develop APIs to integrate with digital applications and extract and process data
  • Work independently on assigned project tasks while collaborating on larger challenges in an Agile environment
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of proven technical data science experience OR Master's degree with 3+ years of proven technical data science experience
  • Degree preferably in statistics, applied mathematics, data science, analytics, engineering, computer science, or a similar field with quantitative coursework
  • Proven experience using Python for data analysis and modeling, including Jupyter Notebooks and common libraries and packages
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git
  • Experience with database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL
  • Ability to process large quantities of detailed information with high accuracy
  • Practical experience with cloud computing and software development in cloud environments such as AWS and Snowflake
  • Practical experience developing, deploying, and productionizing predictive and/or prescriptive analytics solutions and machine learning models
  • Experience with advanced data analysis and machine learning and statistical techniques, including classification, regression, clustering, collaborative filtering, and hypothesis testing
  • Experience developing and implementing natural language processing (NLP) algorithms and models using advanced text mining techniques
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills with continual learning and initiative
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain conclusions to technical leaders, managers, and business partners
  • Experience operating in an Agile environment with ownership and initiative
  • Experience with API development
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated interest in experimenting with or applying emerging AI and GenAI techniques
