St. Mary Nativity Catholic School, Joliet, Illinois
Position available: August 11, 2026
Position Purpose
The candidate must have a positive attitude and serve as a role model to participants in the program. After School Care Program staff must enjoy working with school-aged children/teens.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the safety of all children in the program
  • Signing children upon arrival and out when they leave
  • Creating an enriching, fun, and safe environment
  • Planning activities for children of all ages
  • Interacting positively with children and their families
  • Working independently as well as with a team
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal or pastor.

Education and Experience
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Candidates must be at least 16 years old.
  • Protecting God's Children Certificate and Background Check required.
  • A background in education and/or college course(s) in recreation education is a plus but not required.
  • Childcare work experience with children of all ages preferred but not required.
  • Other training may be required after employment begins.

Work Schedule
This person must be available to work:
  • After school
    • Monday - Friday from 2:45 pm - 6:00 pm
    • Meets on regular school days when school is in session.

Hourly Range $15.00 - $23.00
  • Final hourly rate will be determined by relevant years of experience in a similar job combined with education and professional licensure.
